I have a huge project myself, that I randomly work on that I should be working on more -- sci-fi novel. So, we're in the same boat. I hope you will publish it here, for us to read it, before becoming a best-seller! Good luck while writing! I though about creating a future universe, too. I think what is lacking in science fiction literature/films/videogames is a believable future, I mean, not human-like alien forms (or not aliens at all) no ultra fast space travel, no planets where humans could live without terraformation... you know, this kind of things. If there were some kind of odd humanoid race, it would be a race created by genetic engineering, for instance, and wouldn't be originated in an isolated world and surprisingly evolved to look like us.

The most popular is "Solaris", yes that Solaris But film has changed the plot a bit, but not too much. I've read it (in polish) and it's very good, movie is waiting for me on disk

So, read the book I assure you the book is much much better. And I don't know any other translation of his books. But there are for sure, just ask in bookstore.

Ah yes, I've heard of Solaris. So that's where I remember him from. Never seen the movie, though I want to. And I'll probably like it if no one else does (See the Time Machine thread ;D)
