*shrug* Go tell Ace or Ent-E to take my moderator status away. I'm not being sarcastic or trying to guilt-trip, I'm dead serious. I rather enjoy my place, but nothing really goes on to moderate, anyway. (You can tell I haven't had the most terrific of days...)
The forum has declined because no one really comes around. Paper starships were a big thing when they came about, but everyone has sort of forgotten them. I'll be glad to start modeling again when there's a demand. Otherwise, I'll be here, making sure people don't riot, and occasionally inputting when I feel the need to express my opinion.
If only there was a way to get publicity. Seeing this forum expand was a little dream of mine. I wanted a good place in a big community, where I would be of use instead of just sitting around and being a newbie, and I really thought the paper starship idea would get off the ground and stay in the air for a long time. Ah, well.
Er...back on topic. I hope Episode 3 is better than 2. Episode 2 had bad dialogue, a merely okay storyline, and the only great thing was graphics and Yoda's mad Jedi skills. I know I'm sacrilegious for saying this, but I think Episode 1 is better than the Trilogy. Hey, I saw the Trilogy a long time ago, and they plop you down in the middle of the plot, and I was just confused. Basically the only thing I know from watching that is that Luke is Darth Vader's son. *shrug* I read sci-fi, but I don't watch it much...
...Perhaps I should not write posts after being miffed at someone here in my town. Ah well. I'm waiting for Episode 3, too...but I'm waiting even more for a beeeeyoutiful DVD to come out November 30. Then I'll think of Star Wars...if I'm not too busy drawing fan art like mad...
Edit: Is it just me, or do I really kill every thread I touch?

Quicktime has always worked for me, and it's required for about 10 billion programs I have, so I have to have it installed *shrug* But I'm not paying for an upgrade.
Ad problems? Download Spybot if you're worried about spyware, and Panicware Popup Killer. They're both free and insanely effective.

Basically the only thing I know from watching that is that Luke is Darth Vader's son. *shrug* I read sci-fi, but I don't watch it much... What? Vader is luke's father?!?!?!!?!?!? NOOOOOOO!!!! ;D I think this is what makes this trilogy special. It assumes yo know everithing about this world. This is what makes it believable. In a dusty future world, which is seen to have been used for a long time, noone would stop and explain someone what is hyperspace about, for instance. You discover it through the films, and discovering this is half of the fun. Think about the sith. noone had heard about them in this trilogy, but we now use this word to talk about these old films. Watching these again helps you to understand many things... For me, the first thrilogy (or at least the first two films) is not as good as the original due to the characters. I think I like the empire as the evil part of the film, but I can't see the droids as a real menace. Don't worry: it's just me. I understand evil people dies in films, so lucas used faceless troopers in the initial trilogy, as children love Star Wars. However I think the droids are not... evil enough. (In addition, Kenobi mentioned in ep V that Yoda was his master, but he is Qui-Gon's padawan in epI... I can't find an explanation...) About the forums, I would like to be Someone too, not only a lurker, at least in one forum. But I find I lose initiative when facing too big forums, with too many users. I like small communities, although I admit paperstarships forums need active members. By the way... My computer is almost out of order... I think it will be totally destroyed in some days... bye

Its the crazy PC mentality that butchered a lot of Japanese anime series like Star Blazers or Battle of the Planets - ie can't be seen to be killing people so substitute droids.
Dumb. Especially for our (or my) generation who saw Star Wars in the cinema on first release before there was any talk of a sequel let alone prequels....
Storm troopers got shot. Dead. Live with it.
Battledroids! As bad an idea as Jar Jar Binks....

If you want my thoughts (and I know you don't):
No new SW movie will ever be able to duplicate the feeling I have when I see a small Corellian ship zooming past the camera over a desert planet, followed by a huge grey triangle-shaped behemoth. Nothing they do to Anakin can be better than the most famous "I am your father!".
The new movies are too streamlined, too "perfect". Computer animated Yoda doesn't have the same feeling attached to him as Frank-Oz-animated Yoda has. Computer Starships don't feel the same as 1-meter X-Wing models rigged with small bombs.
I hope Episode 3 will get some of that more simplistic, less glitzy feeling back, but I guess there's no returning to that now.

Nothing they do to Anakin can be better than the most famous "I am your father!". This is the key! In a world which had not seen any "believable" special effects, EpIV stroke with this first scene! When I saw this film, I was also IMPRESSED by the huuuuge star destroyer. It took years to see it's engines, at least this is what it felt like to me. The scope of this scene totally changes your mind about the whole film. And then, Vader, as the villain, is the best evil character I've ever seen. Its relationship to luke is what makes epV the best of the old trilogy. And this is the only epic science fiction film where good guys lose... (well, they don't win, at least) I'm not going to leave you, I feel good here. But I might be forced to be offline while my computer is being repaired (when it stops working at all, now, It just doesn't want to work when I switch it on until some hours have passed since my last try, for instance, but It's still working. And electricity company will not pay unless my pc is totally destroyed, so I must wait) I hope I'll find the way back to these forums... but about human troopers being more menacing than droids, I forgot to mention the worldwide known "Stoormtrooper effect"... maybe I was wrong, and droids are a more real menace And about Tony's words, GLucas did things easyer for joung people with stormtroopers, too. You never though about them as people, they were faceless troopers. While rebels show their faces for you to create an emotional link to them and feel angry when they were killed, Stormtroopers had "angry face" helmets.

yes... we will never see something like vader again, and it was a unforgotable scene when he converts to the light side and shows his face... the best redemption ever
