At the end of the day, IMHO, a "good" film is one that YOU enjoy. Acting may be crap, special effects do me a favour! etc. But if you like it then its a good film and to hell with wht anyone else thinks. I perfect explanation for what I ever thought, blow up the critics !!!!!!!! |

Ian Malcom is alive in both books, Jp and The lost world. I think Michael Crichton liked the character so much that he decided Ian should not have died.

I totally agree with you on the critic stuff, Tony  I really don't care what critics say; I was just stating an amusing trend with me and critic-shot-down movies. You...what? You didn't like Spiderman 2? *gasp* *dies* Just joking. Anyway. It's coming out TODAY and I think it's the best movie I've ever seen since I was addicted to Disney as a child. I'm getting it in approximately 30 minutes. Sequels usually stink. The only good sequels that stand out in my mind are Shrek 2, Spiderman 2, Home Alone 2 and 3, the Lion King 2 (1 and 1/2 makes me want to hurl. Disney you ruined the entire plot and franchise!), and I'll throw Episode 1 in there because it's a prequel. There are more I'm sure, but as a whole, sequels usually aren't that great. I didn't understand the Star Wars trilogy because I saw it when I was younger and had no idea what was going on. So Episode 1 was the first movie of Star Wars that I caught on to. *shrug* |

Episode I is good for one reason: (power?)Duel with Maul. It's the best lasersabre( ;D) duel i've ever seen.
Buttefly effect was good, but only good.
Aliens vs. predator were ruined by anderson, he can't make good films. Predators in this films are totally stupid guys. Kiling one alien is sth difficult for them.

young and noob predators won't be sent to hunting for aliens! Following the plot, killing an alien was an honor, and from sources that I now noob predators were not using weapons used in film, and they weren't hunting aliens.

In my experiance all games of movies or TV series tend to be crap..
And most movies or series based on games are little better.
Spiderman 2 was in its own right a pretty decent movie. After all I bought the DVD!!!. I just felt that McGuire and Dunst went too far into the schmaltzy romance/teen angst to suit the tone of the film.
Molina as Doc' Oc was great (then again gotta show loyalty to the Brit actors doing well in La La Land)
Certainly was better than Daredevil. Now that was bad - Ben "Mr Bland" Afleck and Jennifer "Horse Face" Garner. The main thing that sold me on the foilm was the final scene "Go get 'em Matt". The reporter stole the show...
As for ST. Ageist poiunt for Eps IV,V and VI (or 1 2

I don't like the changes to the first movies. In particular Star Wars - excuse me "A New Hope". Specifically, in the cantina sequence, Solo shoots Greedo first. The scene works best that way. It establishes Solo as a rogue and this makes his conversion to an altruistic service of the Rebel Alliance all the more importnat. Plus its a damn good sequnce and has echoes to the BEST sequence is Raiders ie the big Arab swining his sword when Indy just casualy shoots him and walks away... May be Non PC but who gives a $hi1
Butterfly effect? Not seen yet. Same with A v P..
Getting I Robot on DVD this friday.
Suggestion if you want to see a very good show. BBC/Discovery Cahnnel Space Odyssey - A Tour of the Soloar System. Its presented as a documentary account of the 6 year long mission visting Mars Venus, Io, Pluto etc. Accurate science plus very good effects....
Worth a look.

and btw, SW cantina sequences tend to be great, like that one where a mutilated guy and a butt-faced alien try to pick a fight w/ luke, then ben cuts their arm off ;D

Daredevil - total crap.
I robot - good, but not great, only 1.5h of having fun, when Will Smith is running and killing robots.
I've not seen new reedition of original trilogy.
Heh when I was reading this MY first thought was Mcguire - snooker player. Have you seen last championship in snooker? or british open? He was in great form.
