The structure of the Game has nothing to do with the Legalities of the content and its use.. I'm not going to waste my time explaining why they do things a certain way.. Here is a link to what you can and cannot do with Games Workshop IP: www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?community=&catId=&categoryId=&pIndex=3&aId=3900002&start=4Check near the bottom of the page: Also the Game & Mod Tool agreement state basically that you cannot redistribute the contents of the game. So basically if people wanted paper models of Dawn of War (and its expansions) or any other Games Workshop based game.. Respecting these Mandates & Policies means they have to do it themselves or deal with the legal reprucussions of not following them if they are found out. So in laymans words... It is ok to extract and make paper models from DOW & other Games Workshop based games as long as you own said game and you do it yourself for your own use and you do not make it publicly available for free or for profit.

Ok, you got me. Printing or publishing, no matter how that can be construde really does prohibit posting COMPLETED MODELS for people to download and print.
Although, posting the nessisary tools and and tutorials (Not including any of the game data) is NOT covered in that section.
In my last post I had 2 points, the first one you covered had nothing to do with legalities in the first place. I was merely addressing the possable feeling of fellow hobbiests and GW employees who would be overseeing games in which paper models were used.
In addition, I was talking to a GW employee about making miniatures with similar plastics, using paper models as molds. (I specifically mentioned THQ having bought relic and making the models of Homeworld ships, NOT WH or 40K) He seemed to like the idea quite a bit as the models could be made from bare scratch and would add a new twist to the hobby.
Not that the last bit has to do with anything legal, I thought I'd throw that in there for it's semi-relivence. All in all, great catch xv15mods and thanks for keeping us from screwing ourselves.

It's been 15 years... I still haven't found an answer on how to import unfortunate model materials into blender... Please help. I'm importing the x model, but it has no textures. Do I have to learn 3dmax for this?
