nice ideea !! but why not just cut a hole like you've done then make a barrel roll from paper the diameter of the hole glue the barrel roll on one side to the turret and the just stick it in the hole this way you have a turnable turret and you will also be able to take it of and not assamble all the turrets in place before you glue the underside of the ship

Not bad idea but where you have a turret on the underside of the ship, then you risk it falling out if its not secured.
I guess one way would be to glue the lower turrets into position and use your method for the upper turrets provided you dont mind the lower turrets not turning.
Wouldn't work for me as I usually pack the interior of the model with lots of extra thick card, corrugated packing material or artists mounting board, and with loads of cross braces for extra strength. Because of that, there would be no room for a lengthy tube to be inserted.
Still, not a bad alternative to Auris' method.

right but not if you do the diameter of the barrel almost exactly like the diameter of the hole i've used this metod for the turrets on my ships(battle ships) www.digitalnavy.com

am i the only one who got it ?? the barrel is bigger than the hole, so there is no risk of it falling down

I would like to know the scale the Destroyer you have printed out. I am guessing that the cutting mat scale is 1 cm3 = one square, but more than that I hestitat to guess.
On a more important note when do you estimate when will you be posting the A.I. for the turrets.
Thanks
P.S. I have a solution for finding magnets for turets. I have recieved adds for Pizza place in the mail on the advertisments were flexible plastic magnets. simple to cut up and cheap. That may solve peoples problems.
