You mean brads? I used some of those on a Kushan multigun corvette a few months back. They worked out pretty well, but you have to be sure to secure them tightly. It looks pretty lousy if you don't.
As for magnets, I'd probably have to go with small neodymium ones. I tried to use some .5in fridge magnets to hold together a Kushan research vessel, and that didn't work at all. Might work for turrets, but I'd stick with brads and notebook hole reinforcers.
