The site will be online again soon. Along with a fresh installed phpBB3 (which was not possible to install on the old place).
Why Paperstarships needs new forums: -this one was never an integral part of the site, it's technically an off-site link. -it's unorganized -~80% of it's content is spam -there's no way to backup it's database, and as a dump freehost it can die any time. -from what i see there are maybe 5-6 users visiting it regularly still.
Now that the main site will be online again, it'll again begin to generate new members and contant traffic. On the new forum i want: -organized forums for model- and image submissions -hopefully an active staff for moderating -as a result of the new main site a lot of active members working. -the useful threads from here, like tutorials and such should be moved over to the new forums.

Site is online, forum is online. Everything is operational! All models from old PaperStarships uploaded.
Now go and register to the new forums, and start working on new models :-)

great! I think you should update your database: www.loken.pl/~gremdek/paper/Auris should have much more models, I haven't updated my site in ages.

OMFG, and I got out of boot camp just in time for this! SWEETNESS!!!!
Now I have to find out where the printers are on Naval Hospital Corps School!
I hate to ask this, but can I try my hand at moderating a section?

Hello everybody!
Paper Starships' web host stopped providing the service some time last year. Question is, if i would resurrect the site, would there still be any interest in it?

As a matter of fact E, I am still interested.
I am under a different user name, but you may remember me as raven. A lot has happened over the last 4 years, but as it happens, I have rediscovered my motivation for this hobby. I happened to be here tonight to look for the old tools most of us were using to design the unfolds for the models we used to make.
unfortunately, I am also a windows 7 user, so many of the tools may not work anymore. I still have the laptop I was using 5 years ago though, so I may need to pass some files back and forth, but I'm still technically operational!
currently I'm trying to get the .BIG files and mods all downloaded. the external HD I had while I was on deployment broke before I got back from Afghanistan. I look forward to modeling with you again, and hopefully I'll find Fakeplant or nerath around soon too.

E! If you should happen to see this, PLEASE revive the site as requested in my previous post. All the tools and ALL the data for the HW mods that existed on JST online before the collapse was on my old computers HD. It's been recovered! Every single shred of data is intact, and I've made all the HW1 related tools work on windows 7!
I've also got data for a game similar to HW. It's called ORB, and while the ships themselves may look different, the games play mechanics are all the same. If you happen to come by a copy, its totally worth playing, but my point is that I have successfully extracted the model data for those ships and have them ready to be put through metasequoia!
This site can be revived, with an even larger selection of ships then before!

Hey Alura / Raven! I remember you, nice to see you back. Actually, would you like to get your old account back? I think i can reset the password for it, if you lost it.

Hi to you all (at least, the three I've seen posting here)! I've started re-visiting some of these papercraft sites over the last couple months... first college happened to me and life changed a whole lot, then I landed in a very fun but travel-intense job just after graduation. But I'm back playing both HW games again, and would love to see this start to come back to life! I wonder if I can subscribe to email updates so I don't miss anything here again... (sorry for all the exclamation points, but it's nice to see some of you are still here, too!)

Hello Arlia!
Nice to see some of you come here from time to time. I am some times thinking if it would be worth reviving the site, or not. Sadly, i lost all contact with the former webhost, so best i could do is to revive it on my current webhosting service, but that would mean, the domain name would be a bit different, and i don't know how much visitors it would get this way...
