Well I suppose its all a matter of individual preferences.
I've always done well with Epson. Until recently I've used a "Photo Stylus 830" model which uses a single black cartridge and a colour cartridge with 5 colours.
Has always given first class results.
Recently bought a new Epson Photo Stylus R200. This has separate cartrdiges for all the colours and as such tends to be more economical. With the 830, when one of the colours ran out, the cartridge had to be changed even if all the others were full.
It can print to 5760 Dpi resolution and will take paper weights up to 255g.
Yhe only problem I have had with it is that at top level resolution, the images are too dark (due to ink density). Drop the quality slightly and the results are superb.

hi ElSin - i have a canon S750. the canon printers have single cartridge for all colours makes printing cheap. with the new generation of canon printers you can also print on cd´s. black prints on cheepest paper is realy good an fast. colour print on 160gr cardboard are brilliant of colours. best way is check same prints on same paper on different printers. good luck ;D

well, I use a canon S100, it prints pretty good, even more if u configure it for high quality printing and use the original cratidges, it uses a color one and a black one, but theyr REALLY cheap, like $7 the black one and $14 the color one ( this in R$ )

I have a Lexmark 1185, but it's a scanner/printer/copier, so if you just want a printer, you should get just a printer...
