my votes with the Kushan. they got sleek destroyers, vettes, cruisers, carriers, fighters, infact, prettymuch, anything that ain't a frigate. Cos those suckers just look like little shoeboxes with stuff glued onto dem.

Beast. I like the assimilation idea. I never watched the old Trek movies, or seen any assimilation aliens before (even though there are many). So, the Beast was my first sighting of it. I don't care if it's overused and the Borg came first; they still count as the originals for me...

Somtaaw, because they put more emphasis on fighters. you can win withthe other races just by building insane amounts of super capital ships, but the somtaaw need more skill and diferent startegies. Also the beast is really evil, though it is a cool concept. alternatively, i also like the taiidan because they have def. fighters and frigates. the Kuun Laan is the best ship, though.
the beast are pretty stuffed when they get hit by a 100% blast siege cannon, or when a couple of Dreadnoughts hyperspace in.
Nerath, could you please redo your Dreadnought as I have pure annoying hell trying to fit it on a piece of A4 paper. your Naggarok needs serious revising, too.

Although I've had no problems with printing the Dread, the only comment I would make if Nerath were to one day do an updrade is to suggest making the Dread in the blue/white colour scheme from the cover art of the Cataclysm game.

See, the only thing about that blue and white is, I'll have to start back over in Metasequoia and Pepakura to apply the new textures, then try to figure out an easy way to dissect it again. That was a real pain in the butt to cut in Pepakura. One day I'll actually start doing these models again. Bear with me, guys. Sorry, Tony, for the long wait that will probably happen... And as for the Naggarok, it was my first ship. It's not terrific. Everyone starts somewhere, eh? That's on my long list of things to work on. And the Dreadnought, as a whole, isn't meant to fit on A4 paper. If you mean you're having trouble putting each part on paper, then maybe you'll have to do what I do for big ships -- print the pieces, let your printer cut them in half, and just glue them into the bigger pieces once you cut them all out. I tried to make the Archangel big, because otherwise A) it would be insanely hard to build and B) it just wouldn't be an Archangel.  |

I think the hiigarans look cool, but their ships just become too asymmetrical and clunky after a while, although they do have some fairly slick designs like the scout, interceptor ( ;Dhell, yes this is the stuff ;D) and the gunships. but i still prefer Kushan, and especially the MG corvette and destroyer.

[glow=red,2,300]somtaaw are well built but an aesthetic dead end, and also, they seem to have a very limited tech tree. while this probably cant be hhelped, you'd think they could come up with something more original than linking technology (although that is versatile)
and a properly balanced assault frigate wouldn't go amiss.
Oh, and somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't the taiidan get shortchanged on their (very nice) heavy cruiser? i count six heavy guns and two ion cannons, but six heavy guns and FOUR ion cannons for the avatar.
somebody tell me if this is true, and if so, is it compensated for?[/glow]
