it does it automatically. note when a destroyer, mothership, carrier or dreadnought is hit by an infection beam (or cruise missile), some red flame appear. this is the beast plasma being vented.

Wait, beast cap ships can infect other beast cap ships? ... How fair is THAT? Somtaaw shouldn't have such an unfair advantage.
After all, if you look at it realistically, the Beast ships should be able to do that more efficiently. The Beast just has to regrow cells. The Somtaaw have to replace crew members, which would normally involve docking the ship, thus drawing it far out of battle. And there's a finite limit to crewman replacement.
