Won was the site hosting the servers for the homeworld and cataclysm multiplayer. gamespy took the HW2 servers.

no. game spy may send you spam but they dont send you spyware. the whole gamespy spyware is a total myth.

if i did my homework correctly they have too much to lose if they were caught in such a vile act.

gamespy is a gaming news and hosting company. they host mods, other files, and servers for multiplay.

Anyway. I used to play Homeworld, before my computers started freaking on me whenever and wherever I tried to play. So, I stopped, and when I finally got back into WON, I had lost all knowledge of what to do against a real human opponent. Needless to say, I don't play anymore.

I once played WON in Cataclysm. I got my butt kicked, though I did have a fun time with the infection beam. What can I say, it's insanely cool.

Homeworld 2, I tried a couple of times. Personally, I don't like HW2's gameplay as much as the first two games. Having to build all those modules, having ships come in packs, the different ships to learn strategies for, and all that sort of thing just didn't work with me as a Homeworld fan. So, I don't do multiplayer.

I generally buy games for single player, anyway. I like fictional plots more than I like multiplayer games.
