Okay guys, I tried this and I cant get it to work so lets see if any if you can do it:

I just need a printable model- no surface detail, no textures, just a model. Preferably with the hanger opening going all the way through. Heres the hard part- I'd like it a meter long. I want to convert it to plastic and build this puppy. All the surface details I will build by hand-antennas, paneling, etc.
I just need templates to make parts.

Turan, i've got a mqo of the Hand that i was trying to unfold. . . ive opened it and simplified the edges in Ppka, but i haven't started editing in there yet... i can email you the pdo if you want.
it's not the mesh you linked to, though; i don't know how to open the OPT. its from the homeworld2 star wars warlords mod, but its still pretty detailed. if you're interested, PM me or post your email
