Am I the only one amused/puzzled about how the hangars in Homeworld are either bright blue or green? I remember hearing that modern aircraft carriers use red light because it's hard to spot at night...
Not that I'm trying to nitpick or anything, I'm just mostly talking to myself. Please continue.

Red lights are used because eye feels little difference between red light and darkness, thus it does not need to acomodate when pilot is leaving hangar, if it was white it would take over 10 minutes to acomodate. As for homeworld, i always thought it's because of the tool used for construction of ships that emits such light. Besides, pilots in HW may have the same light in their cabins, and them may be using radars and other instruments to navigate, and may not need to actually see the space
