Capt. Sobans Marine Frigate: Correspondence needed

I've began work on Captain Soban's Marine Frigate and would like some thoughts on the following picture if it looks plausible: The picture (PNG @ 1280x930, 365KB)
It's just the initial modulation, i.e. where all the walls/joints will be, individual module separation/unfolding is a later issue(since it's done in Pepakura)... or... well, does each module look buildable without further creation of modules?

I can put up some more screenies from requested angles if necessary.

If you say so Auris, unfolding started... this may take a while, at least to get it perfect, which is what I usually aim for...

Manman, if you by "skin it" mean "unfold it"(which is really all there is left to do if you meant something else), then I'd rather do it myself, for training purposes!... But if you really Really want to, just tell me what file format you want it in and I'll see what I can do.

hey, nice concept on the modules. it looks like its based off fruc's ion cannon frigate, tho made easier (bridge and engines moduled, too). on my HBC modification i was tempted to use the same idea; it simplifies things ::so much::.

Yeah, I've taken inspiration from many ships on his site since I yet have no solid idea of how to proceed on doing this myself. Also, thanks for approving of my design, feels good to know I'm on the right track.
... And I just got reminded of the worn out proverb "Save your progress often" the hard way, back to scratch on the unfolding! Luckily I had not done much progress.

HBC?! As in Hiigaran Battle Cruiser?! If so, it is relevant to my interests!

yes i would like the unfold practice aswell (senc 2006 i have not had the oprotuity to unfold a model.)! oh and .zip would be preferable.

Obviously I was asking about the file format of the model...if you're using Pepakura, the Metasequoia .mqo-format should do fine, yes? ;-P

A model of Soban's frigate would be sweet particularly as while Frutose has done the missile and laser frigates, the marine and assault jobs seem to have been overlooked.

Indeed, think it might have something to do with the tricky nose-job on those two.

Speaking of tricky... uhm, this was just that, so this project is laid on ice at the moment. I'm going to concentrate on some easier AND even more overlooked stuff, Corvettes and Weapons Platforms.

I need to get some experience before I can tackle the big ships, and I think people are a little bit more forgiving if I screw up smaller models since they would be wasting less paper and ink/toner. <:-)

The unfold I have so far is hardly possible to put together without mutiple eruptions of rage involved... if possible at all. -_-
