finally annoyed last night that I couldnt save from deep ex b/c it was expired, as many of our copies probably are, i went looking for a replacement. I found this program/site: web.axelero.hu/karpo/it seems to be semi-comprehensive; a massive library of formats, tho limited tools. it also used .peo, .obj, .cob, .mqo, and even .pdo, i think. also, its shareware, though saving does not expire. only 50 USD if you want to purchase, which doesn't seem necessary for HW purposes. i'm still trying it out; having some texturing problems. so far, it looks like gold =) anyone care to test? experiance/comments?

Might try it out some time this month if I get around to... but no promises.
You know, there are ways to "extend" the expiration date of Deep Exploration indefinetly... but I'm not sure how keen you guys are on remarks like that, just tell me if I should refrain from them or not.

Hm, the only tools you need for HW2-models are HODTool, Paint Shop Pro/Photoshop, Metasequoia and Pepakura Designer, in that order. Neither the mentioned program or Deep Ex. are really needed... But I guess Deep Ex. or that program could come in handy when dealing with other games, but I'm only interested in HW2-models at the time being, so I don't think I'll try it out after all.

Deep Ex will probably always be useful if nothing else than for re-aranging textures easily and being nicer to work with than Metaseq.

Yeah, that would be true, the drag'n drop function in Deep Ex is a lot smoother. But it's not all that hard to do in Metasequoia unless an actual "material" for an object is lost after extraction from the game-files(think I've seen it happen once)... then you would be left selecting faces all day in Metaseq. while Deep Ex would have it resolved in a minute or two... and yet again, I can see how Deep Ex. would be usefull for other games than HW2 since it can convert between a multitude of formats.
