Harsh! But somewhat true, the only way to open a pdo-file is using a PC with M$ Windows on it... the only "work-around"(as I see it) would be if you know a nice PC-owner that can do a "print to PDF"(only heard of it by reputation) or similar for you... if your friend have the "Microsoft Office Document Image Writer", that could work too if done correctly.

hmm, i take it you don't have a windows emulator running on your mac, ex. virtual PC, i believe the program's called. Only heard of this by name, no experience with it.

Virtual PC? That's interesting ! I've dug up this link from the Microsoft Mactopia website about Virtual PC 2007: [ftp]/http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/virtualpc/virtualpc.aspx?pid=virtualpc[/ftp] It's designed to support Mac G5. (I didn't dig in too deep yet...) In this link it's free for download (or so it says): [ftp]http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/virtualpc/default.mspx[/ftp] But you'll have to buy a licence! (: +/- 250 US$!) There's also an earlier 2004 version around, but haven't searched for it yet... I've also noticed a lot of debate about Virtual PC vs. VMWare. VMWare is supposed to be faster, and running smoother than Virtual PC, but as I have no experience in both (and don't need to) I won't be the judge of that. Maybe this will prove helpfull?: [ftp]http://www.vmware.com/products/desktop_virtualization.html[/ftp] Note: I was just curious about converting pdo to mac. It so happens that the printshop I asked about printing pdo files for me were using mac instead of Ms$, unfortunately.... (They were verry willing to use/install pepakura, so I hoped to progress with my Bentus and Vaygr Shipyard unfolds, and they would print them XX-LARGE size ;D)

actually, that's what I should have said; you're right about having heard good things about VMWare, that's the program I was thinking of. And, as soon as you get the chance, I'd love to see the XL Bentus under construction... I was hoping to be the first to do that lol, but I've had no time for any kind of papercraft with college applications and interviews, . I may be able to convert a handful of PDOs to hi-def images for you though; if you can name or send links to two or three I'll try to get them done in a week or so

Hi Arlia101! I'd say VMWare would be a nice choice, but remind youself that I'm no expert at all, at that point! About my Bentus project: it's one of my projects that still under development. Currently I'm working on some other models, mainly Vaygr (see my post in the 'showcase' section). Bentus and Balcora Gate are just past the 3D-Eploration stage, and the Vaygr Shipyard (planning with full addons) still has to be 'moduled' properly in Metasequoia. But for those who are curious, here are some pics: The first two are Bentus (+details) 3D-exploration views, the third is a Pepakura view (just for a quick look at occuring errors), and the forth is Balcora ready for a proper unfold. I know this is no subject for this thread, so when any progress will be made, I'll start a new thread on this matter. So, arlia101; You can still beat me to it if you want ;D

Hi arghargh200! Here's a link to the archived paperstarships site, can be found in the 'Starships Request -> List of available HW ships' section: List of available HW ships. [/b]Links:[/b] archived version of the paperstarship site: web.archive.org/web/20060505060333/then type: paperstarships.tengun.net/ and it comes up (ty for YessMasster for the info! [/quote] Trying different dates (some don't work) you can actually find some models that would otherwise have dead links! And that Bentus model will need a lot of work! Pepakura showed some major 'flaws' -e.g. red lines- that will have to be fixed in Metasequoia, some time... Btw: can you handle pdf (acrobat) files? I can create pdf printouts . Paper sizes from A4 (210x297mm)up to A0 (841x1198mm ), or even US Letter (8 1/2x11"). Tell me what model & paper size you'd like, and I'll mail you the file.
