Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem I have with the turret meshes of the vaygr frigates? This is what I ran into when I wanted to export the Metasequoia file to Pepakura. It has some faces that need to be replaced, but I cant fix it without messing up the textures! Here's a close up (metasequoia view) of the original mesh: And here is the proposed fix, that I can't do without messing up the textures in metasequoia: I've seen this before (both Yessmasters as my version of the Taiidan salvage corvette has them too) and I guess the textures will have to be reassigned to those faces in some sort of manner, but I don't know how? Any good advise is welcome...

Can't promise it will be good advise... but, if you're using the free edition of metasequoia there's not much you can do about it. Try the shareware version instead, it has an UV-editor which is just what you'll need. :-)

Hi there, Conand! Nice to see you checking this forum, from time to time!
UV editor, eh? I'll see what I can do with that hint. As far as I know I'm using the shareware version, but I'll check anyway.

[glow=red,2,300]I fixed it! ;D[/glow] I found out the problem that has been bothering me for some time now... Those pesky little 'needle' like faces that seem to be haunting me in every HW2 model I try to unfold! At First I thought I had found myself a vaygr frigate turret with the right meshes, but stumbled upon those 'needles' by accident. The first picture shows what looks as a nice turret (the right meshes! ) So I selected all the right faces, and moved them to a new object... And there they were: 'needles' *grumble-grumble* Delete those needles left in the old object! And don't forget to join closed vertices of the newly created object/turret! Next I checked the model in Pepakura and 'Voilá': Begone red lines!! ;D Now I can happily commence unfolding my frigates again... (they're tricky, though. And BIG too!)

I want the frigates. Especially the Infiltrator Frigate! That thing is so awesome!

Hi there gage! I'm currently mainly focused on the assault frigate for now. It's supposed te be my starting point, from which I'll start creating the missile and infiltrator frigates later. (Yes; I'm saving the infiltrator frigate for last. It's the biggest and most complex model of all three!) The assault frigate is coming along nicely now. It's BIG though: about 63 cm when using approx. 8 A3 papers! (that's about 45 cm when rescaling to A4, or US Letter, paper!) The missile and infiltrator frigates are ready for unfolding (maybe some changes are needed) but will have to wait. -sorry - Here are some metasequoia shots, you'll have to do with these for the time beeing... ... And yeah, that's right; they come with full detail and missiles and/or infiltration pods! (hence the size of those beasties!). And alternate colors as well, of course! Just hold on to 'your stockings'! Be patient, and let me do what I like most: building models! ;D 'See ya when I see ya!'

Hey gage & Auris! This is what I've cooked up, so far, till yesterday evening: Parts layout still ain't perfect, flaps need attention, most foldlines need recoloring (Thanks for the tip Auris!), parts numbering/identification, etc. etc.... And this is just my A3 paper version! An A4/Letter sized version (same scale [4, as 5 was too big!] if possible = brake down to even more parts!) will be done when I've finished this one. *sigh* .... And do a Beta build too ;D thats when the fun starts! Or not... ...depending on how well I'll create my beta version...

Hey, gage? You want to build a laser corvette? It happens to be that I have a version (self created & same principal as my minelayer). I'm currently building it myself, when I'm not occupied with unfolding 'other models' ! Want colors? The first three pics are my 'standard' colors, the forth shows the 'vette in the old abandoned vaygr colors (might need a bigger 'V' badge), the fifth shows it in 'Jolly Rogers' livery and the last (desert tan) was just for fun ;D. (If Auris would add his personal smiley as badge onto it he could make it a Wüsten Fuchs 'vette! ) I've also added new faces that can be inserted inside the laser pod bays: The first pic shows the normal pod bay, the second with the new faces inserted (a bit of surgery on the model is needed, though), and the third shows the laser pod inserted inside the newly (=to be) created recess. ... Who wants one?...

I downloaded the laser corvette about a week ago... I think that I'll start building it over the weekend. Either that or the assault craft. I'm really not sure which one... Either way, there are so many great models to build yet so little time to build them! Oh yeah, how is the Lance Fighter so far? SO EXCITED! haha

Auris, I'll send you the files as soon as the model is done. It's still at a test build phase right now; the unfolds of both pod bays are different; just to see which version would be better. It needs its foldlines recolored, some flaps corrected, etc. I could start building the pod bays this evening, if I can find the oppertunity. Pictures will be posted in the showcase section (like the minelayer) when there is some more progress. (Just finished the main hull last week.) Gage?! [glow=red,2,300]Are you showing off with pictures of MY vaygr assault craft?! [/glow] Don't you ever do that! Stop pillaging my photobucket account or I'll shove the models waaaaaayyyyyy back my list of things to do!!
