Hi there, paperstarship enthousiasts!
Some of you loyal members/reader might have wondered why it has been so quiet on the forums these days. Well... As some members are currently very busy with either school finals, or work, etc. I have been preparing for something else! Parenthood! Yep, that's right: My girlfriend and I were expecting a new family member! (hence the reconstruction and refurbishing indoors at home those last months) And just this evening (thursday, that is) my girlfriend gave birth to a lovely baby boy! He's 5 weeks early though, but, so far he's doing very well! His mom is doing fine as well, after some slight complications before and after birth, but she has overcome these with grade 'A' ratings so far. And me? Apart from being 'dead-beat-tired' right now, I'm feeling such pride in being the father of such a cute little guy:
** Photo deleted **
Because this 'fast guy' is 5 weeks premature, (we even didn't settle for a name yet! YIKES!) he'll have to spend some weeks in an incubator at the maternity ward (hospital). Meaning: it'll be some hectic weeks for me and 'my gal' before we can bring this 'bundle of joy' home with us. Where both of us will have to get acquainted with the care of our first new family member.
This, however does not mean that I will stop building paper models! Instead I hope to be able to spend a bit more time on my models (inbetween taking shifts, caring for 'junior'), with summer recess coming about shortly!
Best regards, GreatDane!
P.S. For privacy reasons, I will post the picture only for a short time. I hope you'll understand that.

Thanks guys! Sorry for being away for a while, but I caught an inflammation (=infection) last week, that caused some jaw and neck muscles to swell (can't eat!) and a sever fever. I'm currently strung on antibiotics and painkillers to counter this. They finally seem to be taking some effect today, and I hope to get better soon. (Then I'll have to have that 'wisdom tooth' to be pulled, wich caused it all! Yummie.) Apart from that; our 'little giant' is doing well. When awake, he is very curious about sounds and light. He still has some trouble with finishing his drinks, like most prematures do. But when that's over, he's free to go home! Hopefully this week. Hmm.. yeah, must be my best 'unfold, and coöperative build' ever! So far... (Who knows?) I do hope I used the right glue? Never have build anything with that much moving parts. ;DSigning off now. It's bed time for this tired old wreck! GreatDane.

Hey Yessmasster! Thanks for your reply! ;D I'm much better right now; no more medicine and only a hard 'chunk' left in my cheek (wich will clear in a few weeks) to remind me of that horrible time! Our milk guzzling little giant is making good progress, and I guess it will be a matter of days before he's released from hospital. Here at home, everything is ready (we think) to welcome him into our family. (finally!) I made some progress on my Vaygr Infiltrator Frigate unfold last few evenings, finished the parts layout, and am currently checking the glue flaps. I hope to have the unfold printed (3x A1 size pages ) before my summer recess/holiday. The Beta build (once I find the time. *sigh*) will be used to create the final version; wich will be resized (I presume) to a more reasonable size. I bet few people will have the (financial?) ability to have it printed on A1 size sheets? (Or the room to house 85cm paper models... ) I'll keep you posted on my progress. GreatDane. yessmasster: Not intending to keep you busy, but as I think the Assault Frigate unfold is pretty much finished (Beta stage, though): Any interest/time to host it on your site?

I will upload it along with CC Vette . I'm extremely sorry for the delays, it's all due to great amount of work i needed to put on my studies (this was the hardest year of all), and all spare time i had lately i spent with my gf . Anyways i will have hollidays starting with July . I'll upload the models ASAP

That's okay, mate! Just got a bit curious when your homeworld site seemed to go dorment (=sleeping). I hope your school finals went well? I remember I 'flunked' my finals at technical school first time, luckily my best buddy did do so as well. But, we had a great time repeating our final year, strawling through various city centres, or playing pool or snooker in a pub, during our hours in between classes. Enjoy your spare time while you can! Spend it with those you like/love and go see the world! We made a road trip through europe (bought an old, but cheap car) after our (final) finals, and got an adventurous holiday to remember for the rest of our lives! Quality time... ;D It''s all about quality time, and who you spend it with! Enjoy it whenever you can! GreatDane P.S. Nice work on your gundam site! Checked it every 'now-and-then' and all your efforts do show off. Well done! Keep up the good work!

- Heh-heh - Sure, come on over! 'Herr Direktor' is waiting, and loves visitors! 'Herr Direktor' is the latest nickname we gave him, as he almost rules our household routine these days. All he loves to do right now is to sleep, drink, have us at his beck and call, and surprise his parents with some creative 'claying' (:dutch phrase for.... uhh well, you got the message) every now-and-then. Apart from that, he's doing well. He has grown, and gained more weight (almost 7 -metric- pounds on his planned birth date) and decibels too. - No rest for the wicked, eh? - Btw: Nice to see you're back Raven! GreatDane.

;D Hi Y'all! ;D Well, I't's been a while since my last post. I guess I've been complaining (a bit?) about family life for some while, but here is my current situation at the moment. As of june 2009 'Little Giant' -or 'herr director'?- has become the big brother of 'Big Bear'. 'BB' has had to cope with guite a lot of premature medical conditions from the start. So far we are fortunate enough to have 'BB' still with us, and as for now, he will be. A few minor operations aside, we are expecting (or hoping for) no more severe medical treatments for the forseeable future. "Big Bear (3 yrs) on the left, Little Giant (4 yrs)on the right, taking a bath on holiday in Greece" Please don't be offended but, in all honesty, this is what has kept me (or: us) from continuing on my paper modelling. So now you know! But... Now I'de like to know: What have YOU been up to these times???
