hey im new to the forum anyway im just wondering if theres anyway to scale the pepakura viewer so that ship models come out the same size lol it really bothers me when things are outa scale i know its impossible to make fighters and capital ships scaled right but i'd like to have my fighters the same scale according to the game also is there a way to copy a single page from pepakura view instead of all the pages onto a single clipboard?

This is just an idea, but you should be able to scale ships so they are reletivly the same size by going into the highlighted part of the 2D window menu. From there you can specify a value and the program will automatically resize the unfold. I'm not sure how well it will work, but I believe it's worth a try. Edit: It will really only work if you set the numbers for all the models to an equil number. one example would be setting all the scales to .5 as 1 is very large for a model and some parts may be to large to fit on the page at that scale.

I think the biggest problem people have had as far as scaling goes is always "what is the scale" I've seen a lot of topics (both here and on the relic forum) discussing it. The main issue seems to be that the models are scaled differently and the fact that the manual/additional story disagrees with the ingame measurements...
I'm about 95% that what I'm saying is correct and that I'm not confusing this with the discussion of scale between HW and HW2...
Hope this doesn't discourage you; Raven's idea sound's like it'd work for similarly sized models though.

you could be right qwerty, however I do think you might be confusing this with another discussion on relic forums. last I recall, there was only one very short thread on relic about paper modeling and I started that one.
To the best of my knowlage, they would be talking about the in game scale as most of what would be talked about there in terms of scale has to do with making a mod.
My theory is that during one of the steps in designing the paper model, the digital model is rescaled, thus, all models would be reletivly the same size if the scale factor in pepakura were set to .5
I could test this in 2 ways. I could make a heavy cruiser and a fighter and set them both to scale factor .5 and build them, or I can simple convert the data of both models, open them up in pepakura, have the program calulate the unfold, and compare the listed scale factors.
but of coarse, I could be totally wrong. either way, it's just a thought ;D

I think the conversation I'm remembering is (although I can't seem to find it) is that, if you take the HW2 pride of higara and put it next to the HW mothership the pride is about 2/3 the size. There was also a fair discussion about the scale of the rest of the ships. I'll keep looking and see if I can find the discussion. EDIT: BINGO: here's the addresses forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=8043forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=194108After the first few pages it gets a bit messy as to what scale is actualy used for HW. Anyway, have fun!

Those debates are about how big the ships would be in real life. As the great 7of 9 would say: "That is irrelivent."
What the initial post was asking for was how to scale the PAPER models of the ships so that any one ship would be to scale with any other ship of that class once completed.
However, those threads were a nice find. I'll probably copy those images in the first link and try to make scale models myself based on that image.

the software for doing that is not easy to come by. if you send me the LIFs I'll change the color for you if you can't by yourself.
