Anyone have a non-PDF/image version (preferably one in pdo with colors) of the Dreadnought? I went to the old version of the site and all I could find was a black and white pictures. I checked Yessmasster's and Fructose's Sites but didn't find a copy. And according to the shiplist ehacetfl.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=iwantthisship&action=display&thread=255, it's not in another format either. If it's not in .pdo, I'd be willing to break it apart, but I might need a model, vista doesn't like my version of cataclysm EDIT: I tried breaking apart a model and had great luck following both Yessmasster's and Fructose's turtorial until I transfered into .cob. All I got was the turrets. I tried it with the carrier model too, same situation, all the parts except the main body (doors, turrets and "gears") Any ideas?

If you're problem is in the parts not being to scale, Erick told me that you have to merge the files in Deep Exploration before moving on to Meta. at that point you need to refer to pictures throughout the rest of the way to make sure that all the parts go into the right places. If you need it, I'll take screenshots of how I did it and post them.
The model in the pictures is black and white is because Nerath only had black ink in her printer at the time she did that model... but I thought she took those pictures down...

I think what I've got is a pretty old mirror of the site: arcadecontrols.com/Mirrors/mirror/paperstarships.tengun.net/HW.htm Anyway, the images (3 jpgs off the pieces) are in black and white with blue engine ports. It's an ok color scheme but I was kinda wanting to do the standard blue/grey or whatever (it's been a while ) As far as Deep Exploration -> meta: It's not so much that its not to scale but just not showing up. I'm able to get them into .3ds just find but my trial period is up so I'd much rather be able to use meta. I'll take some screenshots when I get a chance but RL's going to be a bit busy until late tomorrow or Thursday.

You don't want to use 3Ds. 3Ds is way more complex then what you need. if you are out of your trial period for Deep, I'll send you the site I got it at and the URL come with a crack.
It's a WAY old version though and it's WAY open to the public, so don't tag me for piracy.
As for the pictures and color scheme, Nerath IS the only known paper modeler who completed it, and that color scheme in the picture is because she only had black ink to wirk with.
Yes, that is an old mirror. Most of those models were designed before people really began to understand how Ace and Fructose were able to alter the models color schemes.
If you need, I'll send you the model in the MQO stage so you can modulate it as you please, but I don't know what kind of time I will have. It's nearing the date for me to go to basic training and I will have a gurenteed 8 weeks of total down time and life itself is catching up quick.

Hmm... finaly found where I installed Deep Exploration (also a while ago. Apparently my trial's not over yet though it's been at least half a year if not more) I usuially use 3d exploration to output the models. Anyway, apparently .cob files only include everything except the main body of the ship (turrets etc). I'll post images when I get a chance... But, Deep Exploration still works so, I guess that should work ok.
I'll keep updates coming as it works out.
EDIT: Um... maybe my trial period is over, can't save... If I could get that link it'd be great.

THANKS! It worked!
Seems the version of 3d Exploration doesn't like dealing with multiple objects for .cob files.
Now to just have enought time to do more than test it...

Just be sure to open the main body first. that will provide the base size for the model. After that, just open the other objects through the merge option and they will be created to scale with the chassis.
The big thing to remember with doing this (and this is just my experience) is that when you "merge" the objects, the new object, lets say a turret, will appear in the middle of the model and if you don't turn in to transparent, you won't be able to see it.
If you're really anal about this little issue, you can always adjust it's position in meta later, and the object will be exported to .COB as a whole (With turrets and any other apendages already labled as different modules.)
If you need help in adjusting the modules positions, I'll try to write a tutorial on how to do it.
