Paper Starships site?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but whatever happened to the Paper Starships site? It's been down for long, and i was very surprised that this forum still existed. I miss the paper models.

PS is still down, because i still couldn't get the account reactivated. i had to wait months for a reply that my mail was received. i guess they're quite overloaded. When i get the account reactiveted, PS will be immediately restored to it's last known status. And maybe in the summer i start working on PS II engine.

how much space/bandwidth does the site use?
and do you have a backup copy of the site?

i always have a full copy of the latest version of the site on my computer. It used several gigs of bandwidth per month... it was quite a popular site. (and hopefully will be if i can resolve the hosting)

wow, didn't know it was so popular, I wish I could offer some server space, but the place where I hold that paper models archive is my former school server and they wouldn't be happy if sth would be lots of their bandwith

I would recommend byethost, but they just lowered bandwidth per month from 25gb to 6gb, is that enough?

My sincere apologies!!! It's unbelievable, but someone hacked this temporary page to redirect to trojan downloads. And this only several days after PaperStarships server was set up again. Didn't imagine that such a humble little site as PaperStarships has it's enemies.

I think its time you switched hosting companies. Its despicable, freely hosted or not,that they take so long to help. It makes little if any sense that it would take almost a half a year to get your site reactiviated. And was your site hacked via a hole in the script or due to the host?

In anycase, PaperStarships was a great site with some of the greatest models on the web. Of course its your hard work and you don't have to do it but I feel its even more sad that your great resources were kept from being shared.

Is there a way I could help in anyway? Financial support? Hosting? Anything?

Also, I really want that USS Prometheus you've got on your site. Someone else made a different model that splits and comes together using small fridge magnets put inside.
