Hi everyone! My name is Billy. I have only posted a few times here. I mainly like scifi paper models, Star Trek being my favorite. I have only made one paper model from scratch with was the Norway Class Starship, community.webshots.com/album/214796851HcUOCs?134 . Billy

Greetings Missouri
Wellcome on board. Although I'm a big Homeworld fan, I'd like to see more Trek paper models as well.
I've files for quite a few. Enterprise A, Reliant, Spacedock, Runabaout, DS9, Voyager, Delta Flyer, Defiant etc
But there are still plenty of trek models I'd like to see done. In particular the Akira!
Have you thought about hunting up some meshes and seeing if they can be unfolded?

*nods* See what you can do with unfolding, and then we can add more Trek ships to our collection. Welcome to the forums!

As for getting meshes. Well there are a lot out there so its worth running some google seraches for "Star Trek 3D meshes" etc.
Try the Lightwave group as well. Most tend to be a bit too complex for unfolding but its worth a look.
I've a set of meshes for the Minotaur Class fighters and a few other cruiser class ships from the Starfleet Museum website. They are non-canon dsesigns but a interesting concept of what Pre-Federation/Romulan War ships would have looked like until the Enterprise series came along.
Unfortuately, my old demo program of Deep Explorer has long since timed out on my old PC and I can seem to find a downloadable demo to get for this machine. I have a stack of 3D files waiting for conversion to .cob.
Guess I'll have to bend to comercial pressure and buy the full programe.

What programs does everyone use? Pepakura?

Check Fructose's tutorial. It should be in Main Editing, I believe. If you can't access his site, just come back and tell us and we'll explain things. The tutorial is better than text explanation, let me tell you.
Yes, we do use Pepakura.

That is what I am using for a year now and it seems to be working just fine (except of small problems with the Taiidan Interceptor that is.)

I can't download the Lif2Psd? When I do download it, it says that it is missing files?

Does anyone know how to get Metasequoia in English?

You can find the Lif to Psd converter here: www.b5mods.com/tools_hw.htmAnd I downloaded it myself to check. The link works. I did the same with Metasequoia. Here's the link: www21.ocn.ne.jp/~mizno/main_e.htmlAnd once you download it, extract it and select "Other" when asked for the language the first time you run it. Then, a drop-down menu should appear with "English" on it. If you can't select English in Metasequoia, the Mizno Lab webmaster addresses that issue on his site. Good luck with your modeling!

Well I have finally figured out how to get Metasequoia into English.
But I can't figure out the Lif2Psd yet. I can get it downloaded with no problems, but when I open it up it says it is missing file MSCOMCTL.OCX. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it?
Thanks for the help.

Stormeagle
So far as I am aware "Deep Exploration" is just another name for the "3D Explorer" program
My old version was a demo and timed out after about 30 days.
When i go to the site now and try to find a demo, it goes straight to a "GIMME MONEY, LOTS OF MONEY" sort of link.
If you know of a link to a demo version I'd be grateful if you would post it.
Thanks
