I used plain ol' printer paper for all the parts, but reinforced the larger areas from behind with posterboard. Too bad that it still bows in some spots, but I don't think it detracts from it that much. I've also taken steps to omit the gaps near the resourcing areas from the photo. I put on a part upside-down, so I got confused and some parts didn't align properly. Again, it's the freakin' Kharak Mothership, so I'm not complaining much. And I'm actually pretty surprised by how easy the Needleship was. I messed up on the connective surfaces, but the entire model takes up only four sheets of paper. I'd seriously consider recommending it for beginners. And while I'm at it, I finished this recently. [ link] |

Yep, that one is mine. How was it? To build? Surprisingly easy, actually. It still took some doing, but it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it'd be. |

I never finished my bentusi tradeship, It's indeed too tiny, you should make a unfold enlargement before building.

Since the main page seems to have died, here's my enlarged version of the Bentusi Exchange templates based off the old BMPs. The quality might not be as high as some would like, but I guess that's Homeworld models for you. Also, be aware that this enlargement takes 7 pages instead of the original 2. [ link] |
