i've been working on a hig_mothership model, and i'm suprised how well it's been coming considering the number of faces but i just realized the main model doesn't include the hanger door, and the only model of that that I have is not textured- - and my copy of 3d exploration expired a week ago so, could anyone extract a lod0 mothership door, with texture, and either send it to me or post it online? i'd be happy to share the beta model with them before I try it on the forums. much thanks *note- i probably will not be online for the next few days, so if I don't respond, its not intended rudeness - i got grounded lol

Deep, IIRC, well, they both work the same, so, if you don't have Deep download it, I will see if I can dig up the inspirer.

how would I go about working with a model that has faces that pass through each other? like the antenna at the top and bottom of the mothership?

The Beast Mothership had those...argh. But here's how to deal with it.
In Pepakura, once you unfold the ship, you can right-click and bring up a menu of options. Choose "cut." Now, cut apart the target faces and drag them away from their corresponding pieces. If they have another edge that attaches to something else, many times you can attach it to the other part and it won't cover the faces on that part.
Or...if it's just a stationary face that can't be cut, you have to ignore it. No choice. What are the antennae overlapping (the ship's body, other parts of the antennae, what?), and can they be cut away? Since they're a separate piece of the ship, they probably should be built separately and then attached to the ship, anyway.

it's the large antennae- more like horns- at the tip and foot of the ship, they pass through the body of the ship i'm doing some work with the knife tool in metaseq, its takes some time to get the right cut, but it should do. HW2 and HWC models seem to have a lot more overlapping or disconnected faces than the HW orig, like the designers almost got sloppy this is the view from the inside of the top, looking up, from in pepakura, the dark colored faces are the problem ones the top section in pdo and jpg is www.geocities.com/quee101/mother_sample.zip, i'm building her scaled down by section to debug the model
