Well i do realise that i am attempting to recruit new pilots into our tiny community, so the answer is "yes".
in answer to questions about creating paper starships, i do not have any concept of the difficulties involved in making these, but id like to see a complete shipset of all the fighter size craft in the game.
right off the bat that would be 10 ships available for play in Base Wars, Plus the Mako on the arena side.
also there are quite a large number of the other ships in the game, pirate ships, agt craft etc, all fighter size.
since i am so immersed in the Tachyon universe, naturally im greedy, and id like to have EVERYTHING ! bases included. lol.
but we must start somewhere. i have longed to have something i could display on my computer desk but i am not talented enough to mold anything from clay etc.
Micromachines did a shipset for Star Wars some years back, and if anyone is that talented to mold a set like those, i would love to have a set for Tachyon.
if Bloodstar doesnt post an answer here directly, ill get the info from him, and post a reply about what program he used to look at the meshes.

ok i asked Bloodstar about this ; heres his reply:
quote: ______________________________________________ I think I remember doing it with a program called
Deep Exploration Version 3.0 from Right Hemisphere products.
It is really impressive how this program rips apart any 3D code format and decodes it. This thing not only could decode the .pak files to dispay the wiremesh, but also separated it into all its object files and textures neatly grouped together. You can even manipulate the wiremeshes and textures with that program and choose between different display modes.

well there ya have it good luck team!
ill be watching and waiting, and if you guys can make use of that program ill be more than happy to promote your works at my site.
and also ill tell the Tach community .
Happy ship modeling, i cant wait to see it turns out!
id like to build a few myself.
regards, Slippster
