Pegasus! Yummy.
Polycount looks buildable as well; not much more detailed than HW models... Now to wait for our unfolding masters to turn this into a buildable paper model thingy...
*bows before unfolding masters*

Hmmmmmm... I THOUGHT is was the Archangel. Only when I saw the title I believed I was wrong. Oh, well, haven't played Tachyon in a few months... Pegasus... how silly of me...Oh, and I know the deadliness of that ship. More firepower than the Orion or Poseidon, and not as sluggish as the Phoenix. I don't like the look of her compared to other Galspan ships, though. Stop trying to recruit us ;D

Way to go guys! Managed to alienate a new member in about 2 posts!!! He hadn't been around long enough to figure the banter isn't intended to be harsh. So as a result a potentially valuble new recruit has gone and taken with him the possibility of opening up whole new set of models.... So what if he was a bit intense. I can see where he's coming from as I'm a big fan of Tachyon even though a recent convert. After all, don't we try to convert others to both HW and paper modelling. So he encourages you to join in with what he enjoys. The two aint frelling incompatible you know. Sheesh! Hopefully he'll pop back and see some GROVELLING ABJECT APOLOGIES!!!! This is the kind of thing the mods need to stamp on.

Oboy. Didn't mean to piss the man off; I got a bit enthusiastic as well and, umm, with me, that always results in sarcasm. I was treating him like a friend, really (they're all used to it, though).
I really hope Slippster does read this and accepts my apologies. I (and it's safe to say WE, I think) really appreciate the help. Sorry, man.
In case he does not find his way back here - well, let this be a lession to us. Or me anyway.

I'm just going to chime in my two cents on this little development, then I'll shut up about it forever, m'kay?
This website is all about paper starships, and the folks who love to create and build them. In that respect, I think the site itself is awesome, and fills and really solid need. The community here at this forum is, for the most part, a really good and helpful bunch of guys and gals.
While I appreciate the predominating fondness of the membership for the Homeworld games (hell, I played and enjoyed them, too, and many of the paper models on my shelves are from this site and those games), I find the forum to be a little "Homeworld-centric". This doesn't mean the forum isn't accomodating to those with other sci fi movie/TV series or PC game interests, it just has that subtle tone suggesting that if you don't think the HW series is the greatest, bestest, be-all, end-all then you might as well find another forum to go play in.
I'm glad that HWers have a place to go to chat and express their shared affection for the games. I personally favour the Independence War games, and have been a member of the fan community website forums for years. So I spend a lot of my fan-internet time reading and posting over there. I originally came here to build and learn about paper models from any/all sci fi media that had starships, but quickly shut up and left because of the heavy Homeworld focus. Not, again, that this is a problem, but if it isn't an affection you share, you can quickly feel a little out of place, even if you love science fiction shows/movies/games, and love to build paper models.
As I said earlier, the website itself is an excellent resource and reasonably well balanced for all the major sci fi genre stuff. The forum, on the other hand tends to be dominated by those who love HW (which is fine and all), and those who love to have the highest post count, regardless of the content of their messages. This can be a little off-putting to some like those who love the I-War games, or Tachyon:BTF, or (fill in the blank with your fave non-HW show/game here).
I want to compliment Ent-E for such a cool site, and for thinking of this in the first place. I hope that our (Stephen Robertson and myself) decision to start a separate I-War paper model site didn't create any bad feelings, or step on anyone's dreams of having a single central starship papermodel clearing house. There's room for all of us who love paper models from all the games out there on the internet.
Come back Slippster. I want to build Tachyon ships, too. It's too easy to misunderstand 'tone' when the only cue is the typed word, and English isn't always the first language.
nuff said End of rant.

"Slippster, did anyone ever said u speak like a informal diplomat ?? " ( and who do YOU represent?)
"u write such long posts... ( what? i TALK too much?)
ps.: register... " ( talk some more? wtf?)
"quit trying to recruit us" ( fine DONT play then.)
"damn dude, stop w/ caffeine... chill out... " ( wtf?!)
ya that builds fever pitch and excitement .
dang i cant wait to come back here and see what glove will say next.
i was full tilt head over heels.
well thats all gone now.
Tony since you are the originator of this thread, and since you have not had the chance to talk directly to me yet, i have come to post again.
ill be glad to help YOU.
add me to your msn buddy list and ill send you any information you need.
i have been active inside the Tachyon community for 4 years and im not going to let a ...well i wont use colorful adjectives.
anyway the tool you need to unlock the pak files resides on my hard drive.
ill gladly share it with YOU.
if you choose to share it with any others that is YOUR CHOICE.
i am not fond of being talked down to, the condescending tones are ... shall i say ...less than inspiring?
and i notice a thread on the topic list where one person complains of it being "too quiet here"
well after those comments i took from glove, it might get a little quieter.
ya, im enthused about tach, ive been flying for 4 solid years, and il go ahead and say im probably the loudest voice and the tallest cheerleader in the tachyon community for the game.
i have worked with mod makers beta testing their tach mods for maps, and ships, as well as patches to improve the ingame experience.
we just released a new way to play the game by IP, so even if novalogic turns off their servers, the game will live on into eternity.
that means alot to everyone who plays, and if glove is too shortsided to apreciate that i am sorry for him.
he and anyone else who hasnt experienced the online portion of Tachyon is missing out on a fun flight experience.
after all dont you want to jump in a starfighter and actually FLY the dang thing?
you guys just build ships...
I FLY THEM EVERY NIGHT!
i sure do, and have for 4 years. its love for the game, no more no less.
Tachyon is like a hidden jewel in the online game world. not many know about it but after they find it they cherish it.
and head to head dogfights with a live opponent beats the hell out of playing against the computer AI.
and at the same time you bond with people all over the planet; you make a lifelong friend.
i had a short discussion with glove on msn im this morn and since im not a big fan of half life, i guess im not his cup of tea.
fine.
id love to see him or anyone pick up a copy of tachyon and jump in base wars, we always welcome new faces.
back in the day it wasnt uncommon to see 30 players in game everynight in base wars and another 30 in arena going head to head in a huge furball free for all dogfight.
sadly, the game is 4 years old and most of the clans have moved on to "bigger and better" games
sadly there are none, as far as a space flight simulator.
freelancer has captured their attn, but all us hardcore base wars pilots dont relish the idea of mouse flight.
at any rate Tony, im glad you are enthusiatic, and i can read through your posts that you are.
i consider what i did last night ( unlocking and looking at tach 3d objects ) to be a major breakthrough.
i was excited. not a crime is it?
i thought that, what? this site was designed to generate a fanbase of the games?
keep attention to the games alive ?
cross promotion isnt a bad thing, i had a link pointing to this site on my links page .
i deleted it.
add me, Tony, to your buddy list we will talk directly.
i have saved all of the tutorials i can find here to my hard drive so that even if i lose my internet connection i have them.
i think ill watch this site from afar and not get involved.
but ill work with you Tony.
regards, Slippster.

ok man no hard feelings, lets get on with this. i tend to be a little moody. thats just me? :shrugs: ok first youll need a pff tool. download this one or use your own. www.gamingpix2.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/FwOPff7.zipnext the all powerful Tachyon Pak Extractor www.gamingpix2.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Tach_pak_extractor.exefirst make a new folder on your desktop. it will be used with both tools. use the pff tool to locate your Tachyon.pff (normally C:\Program Files\Novalogic\Tachyon) then in the filter window choose PAK it will then display all of the pak files right clik on a pak file and extract it to that folder you just made. now use the pak tool. clik the "Multiple Objects" box clik FILE, OPEN, locate the folder you dropped the pak file into. clik OPEN button, then clik OK button. now go back to that folder. you will now see a new folder inside called SHIPS inside you will see all the files Deep Ex needs to display the object files. have i helped you?
